The Center
for Korean Studies (Institute of Oriental Studies – School of Regional and
International Studies, FEFU) is pleased to announce VIII FEFU International
Korean Studies Conference hosted by the Far Eastern Federal University,
Institute of Oriental Studies – School of Regional and International Studies
(located in Vladivostok, Primorsky Region of Russian Federation) with support
of Russian Association of Academic Koreanology.
The
conference is organized by Center for Korean Studies and supported by the Core
University Program for Korean Studies through the Ministry of Education of the
Republic of the Korea and Korean Studies Promotion Service of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS-2015-OLU-2250003).
The
Conference will focus on a broad range of topics related to Korean history,
politics, economy and culture. The Conference organizers invite papers and
presentation proposals relevant to Korean Studies. A paper with any of the
following or related subjects would be appropriate for presentation:
- Russian-Korean bilateral relations.
- Korean history and culture.
- Korean philology.
- Social-economic development of ROK and DPRK.
All
accepted papers will be published.

Presentations
and Papers
Organizing
Committee welcomes to take part in conference by both presentation and sending
a paper. All successful applicants will be expected to give a 15 minute
presentation and will have to submit their full paper (not less than 10,000
characters) and presentation (if needed) by 1st of May, 2019.
Working
languages of the conference: Organizing Committee decided to accept
presentations and papers in Russian, English and Korean languages. Translation into
Russian will be provided to all participants, but in this case full paper must
be submitted by 1st of April, 2019.
Eligibility
and Support
Eligible
Applicants: MA students, PhD students, Korean Studies Researchers from Russian
and Overseas Universities.
Accommodation
and meals: The cost of in-campus accommodation is approximately 4,000 rubles
per day. Please contact us if such accommodation is necessary. Meals (lunch and
dinner) will be provided to all participants during the conference.
Transport:
Unfortunately, due to the restricted budget, we are not able to offer any
transport grant to participants. Participants are encouraged to seek financial
support from their own universities.

and Submission of Abstracts
Applicants
should submit the following information by e-mail to fefu-iksc@yandex.ru:
- full name, title and institution
- contact info (e-mail and telephone)
- major area of study (region and discipline)
- abstract (300 words max.) in print-ready format, including name and institution

You will be
sent a confirmation that your application has been received. If you do not
receive a confirmation by the 11th of March 2018, please, contact with
Organizing Committee by e-mail.
Application
Period
The
deadline for applications is March 4, 2019.
We will
contact all applicants regarding the acceptance of their application.
